The Basin of Bormio is ample and bright, dug for centuries by the glaciers and the river. It’s rounded by the mountains which on the north form a barrier of limestone and dolomia. Its main peak is called the Reit (3075 mtrs.).

The region has a particularly favourable climate although the altitude and the northern position which in some zones is transalpine.
The sun exposition is prolonged and the cloudy days are only a few: in Bormio they are 63 a year on average.

Maximum temperature overcomes 28 degrees difficultly, the minimum one is around 14 degrees below zero.
